A clearer way into aviation
How to read our references
Every reference separates the publication's subject from the evidence actually inspected.
Passage-level review
Twelve local references have been checked at selected passages, with edition and printed/PDF page locations recorded in the source audit. This is targeted reading, not a complete review of every provision or amendment. The remaining fifteen reference pages are catalogue-level introductions.
Historical catalogue descriptions
The 2021 ICAO catalogue text in the authorized local library was inspected. It supports title and subject descriptions and reports historical editions. It does not verify which amendments are present inside a similarly named PDF.
Verified quotations
Two short quotations were checked against primary publication text: an ICAO-hosted Annex 19 extract and the fourth-edition Doc 9859 hosted by the Swiss aviation authority. Their pages identify the edition or extract date, section and printed/PDF page.
Currentness
The ICAO Store already lists a newer Annex 19 edition than the historical excerpt used here. No entry should be treated as proof of the latest applicable requirements. Check current official publication records, amendment applicability and national implementation.
Copyright and independence
Library PDFs are not distributed by this site. Explanations are original summaries, with only brief attributed quotations. Avi Learner is independent and does not imply ICAO endorsement.

Expanded learning content: evidence rules
New content is original global beginner orientation, with named primary-source pointers and jurisdiction labels. A training catalogue supports the existence and scope of a subject, not a legal obligation. An authority overview supports an introductory distinction, not every provision of a current instrument.
Source records separate content review, link checks and currentness. Edition and applicability fields are left unknown where they were not established; no edition is guessed. New role and glossary explanations are teaching summaries, not official job standards or formal definitions.
Corrections and review ownership
The prepared release was assembled with AI assistance for Avi Learner. The site owner retains editorial approval; no qualified specialist reviewer is claimed. Before publication, assign an editorial reviewer and record the accepted build checksum. Recheck change-sensitive material when an authority updates a source, a correction is received, or a new release is prepared.
For a correction, identify the exact page, sentence, official evidence and date. The owner should triage safety or rights concerns first, withhold affected content when necessary, record the correction, and re-run links and scope checks. No contact inbox or response time is invented.
Media is not a substitute for teaching
Photo previews retain source, creator, licence and modification details. Video records separate metadata provenance, playback and full-content review. Unreviewed candidates are not recommended lessons; use the text explanation without loading third-party media.
