Optional Google Analytics

If you choose Allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand measured visits, pages viewed, traffic-source domains, approximate country-level activity, active engagement time, whether 90% of a page becomes visible, and clicks on navigation or published PDF links. Engagement time measures time a page is in focus; an automatic scroll signal records the first time 90% of its height becomes visible. Neither proves that someone read or understood the material. A PDF event records an open/download click, not completion of a download or reading.

We do not load the Google Analytics script or send analytics requests before you allow it. We do not use advertising features, Google Signals, user-provided-data collection, account-based User-ID, session replay or custom fingerprinting. We do not send your typed searches, form text, private learning checklist choices, or URL query strings/fragments as analytics data. Reports use approved page/resource paths and editorial titles, not personal profiles.

After you allow analytics, Google receives technical information needed to process the request, including your IP address, along with a first-party analytics cookie identifier and limited browser/device and interaction information. Approximate location can be derived from an IP address. Analytics is not anonymous in the sense of involving no identifiers. Google's processing may involve servers outside your country. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites using its services.

Your consent and withdrawal

The banner offers Allow analytics and Reject analytics. Use Analytics settings at any time, including from the footer, to change your choice. Rejecting after an earlier approval stops future analytics measurement in this browser and removes this site's analytics cookies. It does not erase information already received by Google; contact us with any related request.

We remember your choice in this browser for 90 days, then ask again. Clearing browser storage also clears the preference. Each browser/device has its own choice. If the browser cannot save a preference, optional analytics stays off.

Cookies, local storage and retention

• Analytics preference: avi-analytics-consent-v1 in local storage records only your allow/reject choice, notice version and expiry. It has no generated visitor identifier and expires for consent purposes after 90 days. An expired record may remain in browser storage until replaced by a new choice or cleared; it cannot authorize analytics.
• Google Analytics cookies: after consent, _ga and _ga_* distinguish measured browsers/sessions. We configure a maximum 90-day lifetime without extending it on every page visit. Browsers may shorten this period.
• Analytics retention: Google Analytics applies the existing Avi Learner property's configured retention controls to detailed user/event data. Standard aggregate reports are not governed by the same retention setting. Contact us for information about the current setting or a data-related request.
• Learning-path progress: existing avi-path-* local storage remembers reading checklist choices on this device. It is not sent to analytics and is not a qualification record. Use the path's reset control or clear site storage to remove it.
• Site testing: avi-analytics-exclude may be set in a site tester's browser to keep routine testing out of measurement. It does not identify ordinary visitors.

Hosting, links and embedded content

Our hosting provider necessarily processes requests to deliver site pages and files. Server request/security logs are separate from optional browser analytics; a request total is not a count of individual visitors. This notice does not assert a hosting-log retention period we have not verified.

Links to official aviation sources and other websites are governed by those providers' privacy practices. Video players and other embedded services may make their own requests when used. The analytics control governs Avi Learner's optional Google Analytics; it is not a universal switch for other services.

What the figures can and cannot show

Analytics covers only measurable, consenting browser activity. Consent refusals, browser protections, multiple devices, automated visits and interrupted requests affect totals. We do not treat a measured browser as a verified human or infer a visitor's nationality or home country from approximate location. Collection begins when the configured tag is enabled; earlier hosting traffic cannot be reconstructed into historical engagement.
